Suggested route flow

  • Cycle from Cochin Airport to Munnar: begin at Cochin International Airport and settle into a steady rhythm toward Kothamangalam. Prefer to rent a road cycle in Munnar only? Choose Munnar Town pickup instead.
  • Beyond Kothamangalam, the character of the ride begins to change. The route gradually climbs towards the Western Ghats, with each kilometre bringing cooler air, winding roads, and increasingly scenic surroundings. Long day or multi-day split — both work; ask us when you book.
  • Pass through Neriamangalam, often called the Gateway to the High Ranges, where the real mountain climb begins. From here, the ascent becomes longer and more sustained, rewarding riders with beautiful valley views and forest-covered hills.
  • Continue through Adimali, an ideal place to stop for refreshments before tackling the final climb into Munnar.
  • The last section is the most memorable. As you gain elevation, the temperature drops and the landscape opens into rolling tea plantations, mountain viewpoints, and the unmistakable scenery that makes Munnar one of India's premier cycling destinations.
  • Finish your ride in Munnar, celebrate the climb, and enjoy a well-earned evening in the hills.

Tea and breakfast points

  • Plan your food and hydration stops along the way.
  • Kothamangalam – Good option for an early breakfast.
  • Neriamangalam – Tea shops before the main climb.
  • Adimali – Restaurants, cafés, and supermarkets for a proper meal and bottle refill.
  • Munnar – Plenty of cafés and restaurants to celebrate the finish.
